SMS program

CallHeim SMS alerts

CallHeim sends text messages for two reasons: a one-time code to verify your phone number, and on-call incident alerts you set up yourself. Everyone opts in personally, inside the app. CallHeim never sends marketing or promotional texts.

How a person opts in

Each person does this for their own number, in the CallHeim app, by following the steps below.

  1. Step 1: Sign in to CallHeim

Open the CallHeim app at app.callheim.com and sign in to your workspace.

  2. Step 2: Open your Profile

Find the card titled “Phone number (SMS / voice) — verification”.

  3. Step 3: Type your own mobile number

Choose the country if the card asks for one, then type your number in the Phone number field.

  4. Step 4: Read the consent text

The card shows it before anything is sent. The exact wording is on this page, below.

  5. Step 5: Select Send code

CallHeim texts a 6-digit verification code to that number.

  6. Step 6: Enter the code and select Verify

The number is saved only after the correct code has been entered.

  7. Step 7: Incident alerts are a separate choice

SMS incident alerts go only to people who have also added SMS as a step in their own paging rules.
